Marbella is to get a new water park which will be located beside the Hotel Don Miguel hotel.
Marbella Leisureland Investments, a company linked to the Libyan group that bought the Don Miguel in 2012 with the idea of re-opening it as a luxury five-star resort, plans to begin building works in 2016 and open the leisure facility in the summer of 2017.
The water park, on a site which is 62,000 square metres in size, is to have eight zones, 28 attractions and four kilometres of paths. A thousand job positions are to be created, directly and indirectly, during its construction. Tens of millions of euros are expected to be invested in the scheme.
Muñoz said, “This is a unique project for Marbella and has been conceived with the objective of becoming iconic in global terms.”
