Marbella New Dog Beach The 300-metre stretch is open between 15 October and 15 May

Marbella gets its first dog beach, but only during the low season

Marbella has inaugurated its first beach for dogs, albeit only for use during the low season for dog bathers.

Situated in Lindavista, in San Pedro Alcántara, the space consists of a 300-metre long stretch of fenced-in beach which is to be shared with dogs during the period between 15 October and 15 May. The area, covering 9,513 square metres, runs between the mouth of the Arroyo del Chopo and the La Guayaba ‘chiringuito’.

The town hall has asked the Junta de Andalucía for permission to do the same at two other beaches, Artola-Cabopino and El Pinillo and is looking at other spaces so that dog owners from Marbella and Las Chapas do not have to go to San Pedro.

There are regulations set by the Junta de Andalucía which must be followed. Marbella council is responsible for keeping the beach clean on a daily basis and also for putting up signs informing visitors that the dogs are permitted to use the space.
